What Is Alzheimers

Question:
I want to know about Alzheimers?

is it normal for some one who is suffering with alzheimers disease to remember songs they may here after only a couple of notes have been played ?

Can anyone give me some suggestions???

Answer: Your description and question aren't very clear. If you are asking if it is ''normal'' for a person with Alzheimer's to identify a song they remember from before after only a couple of notes -- Sure.Remember that in Alzheimers the long-term memory is there, but the short term memory is gone. Eventually the long term memories can't be accessed because of loss of language skills and what is called executive function.

Alzheimer patients enjoy old tunes from their youth, and old magazines or "time issues" dedicated to the big events of their youth (a war or moon landing etc.)

Yes. there is different levels of dementia and the mind can lose one thing and retain another. Eventually there will be nothing left though and for some it goes fast.
