Question:
Many people have written about brain fog, and erratic sleep and otherproblems that do sound like neurological problems. But brain fog can becaused by severe fatigue and grossly inadequate sleep. I worry that somepeople may not have neurological damage but believe they do. The reason itis important to understand whether brain fog is caused by brain damage orfatigue is because the treatment, and most effective ways to compensate, are different. I can't speak for other people but from living like this forthe past 18 years I am emotionally exhausted from putting all of my effortinto each hit or miss attempt to recover. I would not wish on anyone adiagnosis of brain damage (no matter how "high functioning" a personappears), or wish on anyone the waste of energy that barking up the wrongtree causes, while missing out on the right tree.

What's your opinions??? Can anyone share with me something else??

Answer: The National Aphasia Associationhttp://www.aphasia.org/

Aphasia is an impairment of the ability to use or comprehend words. Youmight also find it interesting to see what turns up in a web search fordysphasia.

Which brings me to CFIDS and brain damage. It is possible for a virus tocross the blood/brain barrier. But I am very curious about whether or notthis is occuring in CFIDS and if it does, is it damaging the brain in theway aneurysm, brain surgery, or local or diffuse brain trauma, or strokecan?

If anyone knows of current research about CFIDS and brain damage I aminterested to read it. Please send it to me via e-mail or send it to thislist so we can all learn!

I am amazed by the people who can write to this list daily or nearly daily.May I say I do envy you? In spite of the occassional friction, flames, and misunderstandings this is the warmest, most supportive group ofpeople I have known. Which amazes me because I know how much sufferingthere is here. Suffering makes a big grump out of me, and on other days Iam just too tuckered out to smile. Know what I mean? That is why at leastonce each day I try to get my computer turned on and read at least of fewmessages and all of the humor!
