Question: I'm not sure how many of you know, but pfizer has a Rx plan for those onmedicare. Aricept and zoloft are 2 of the covered medications on the list. The income base is either 15K or 18K per year. There is no fee tojoin. Medications are $15.00 per 30 day dose. It takes about 3 wks to process. It actually took longer to get theapplication from the company. You cannot apply online. Any comments for me???
Answer: I note that thenational Alzheimer's Association as well as the AARP have applaudedPfizer's action. And if you're talking about money making, it's good to keep in mind thatthe highest paid person at the non-profit national Alzheimer'sAssociation makes between $200,000 and $300,000 a year. And thatorganization is dependent on our contributions. And I doubt the actions of one company will stop Congress from addingthe prescription drug benefit. A number of drug companies are doing this, and don't think thatthese companies contribute MILLIONS in "campaign contributions"for nothing! They have armies of lawyers and lobbyists fightingright now to make sure that NO prescription benefit for Medicarewill pass, and millions of dollars more (ripped off from seniorsand other consumers) than AARP or any other senior organizationcan raise.
