Developmental Aphasia

Question:
I have a learning disability, called "Developmental Aphasia". ThoughI had it since birth, I was only told that I had a learning disabilityjust as I was leaving high school.

I have my own ideas on what developmental aphasia is, and I have beensearching the WWW, finding topics on Aphasia and Autism (I have symptomsanalogous to both). Is there a link that formally describes DevelopmentalAphasia?

Answer: What sorts of problems do you have? I am a parent of a child withproblems, but the person who is helping her the most says that most ofthese labels don't really describe more than symptoms. He prefers to checkhow senses take in information, how the brain coordinates what it takes in,and how learning is approached overall. There are some auditory, visualand memory aspects to it.

Not related, but I'm trying to see if anybody else had a problem with aPitocin-induced pregnancy. Was your mother given Pitocin (syntheticoxytocin) during childbirth? This might affect either the ability to takein new information, or to make connections with information or people.
